Geographical contexts to everyday situations explained




Yesterday the BBC changed the way in which they present the weather. The symbols which people have been used to for decades have been replaced with these:

An interesting point mentioned by many Scottish geographers has been the problem of perspective and scale of the SE compared to Scotland.

A new and exciting geographical dimension to photography has now appeared, and I'm indebted to Noel Jenkins for bringing it to my attention.
It allows the tagging of photos not only with the content of the photo, but also its geographical location.
Check out my picture of the Magpie Cafe, which was posted earlier.
It has a Geo Tagged label just underneath it. Clicking the link takes you to a GOOGLE map of the UK, with the photo located in its correct position.
